Minster Announce Change of Ownership
21st July 2011 09:29
Minster Computer Software, has recently been acquired by Phoebus van Deventer.
The Tamworth-based company, which trades as Minster Logistics, delivers bespoke software solutions to distribution, supply chain and logistics businesses nationwide.
Minsters’ software is utilised by Marks and Spencer, Wincanton and Brakes Logistics among many others and manages the distribution of products as diverse as food, cleaning materials, stationery and medical equipment. Its voice-enabled modules are used by most clients who report many benefits including a significant increase in the level of productivity in frozen product environments.
Phoebus, who relocated to the UK in 2000, has a lengthy record of success in the logistics arena in his native South Africa. The following year he joined Gist at Ocado and later took over responsibility of Gist’s multi-user site in Tamworth.
After attaining an MSc in Logistics and Supply Chain Management from Cranfield University in 2003, Phoebus went on to establish the UK operation of Idrawfast, the world’s largest architectural visualisation company, which he later franchised in Dublin and Paris.
Commenting on the acquisition, Mr van Deventer said:
“Minster attracted my attention with three main strengths; the quality and dedication of the long-serving team, a robust product portfolio and the position of trust we hold with our clients.
I hope to add a fresh commercial perspective to the business and drive innovation to the benefit of our growing customer base.”
During a recent survey, feedback revealed customers feel they have a superb working relationship with the Minster team describing them as ‘approachable’ with ‘expert skills’ and ‘understanding of our business needs’. Minster has ambitious plans and hope to continue to receive high levels of support and encouragement from existing and future partners.
