More detail on how
Minster Logistics
can support the Delivery processes……
PDA Vehicle Routing and Delivery
 |
Route details can be downloaded from the Minster system to a PDA and used by the drivers in place of printed route sheets. The top-level screen consists of a list of the drops/customers on the route, and the status of each (outstanding, delivered, delivered with discrepancies etc). The driver can select a customer and see their full details, (name and address, contact, phone number, delivery notes, requisitions, number of cages etc). |
Electronic Proof of Delivery
The screen contains boxes for the customer to sign for the goods, and to print their name. There is also space for the customer to write a short comment, as well as an option to view the products and quantities on a delivery note, and to record shortages, rejections etc.
GPS Satellite Navigation
There are various PDA hardware options available ranging from a simple dockable PDA, to a ‘ruggedised’ wireless PDA with an integral bar code scanner and GPS satellite navigation and GPRS software installed.
GPRS Option
The GPRS option allows confirmation of the delivery to be transmitted back to the Minster system as soon as delivery takes place. The GPS option directs the driver between drops.
Onboard Camera
There is also the option for the PDA to include a camera, which can be used to capture an image of the delivery as the customer signs for it.
Delivery Discrepancies
This module allows delivery discrepancies to be recorded and automatically suggests and controls the recovery action that needs to be taken e.g. In the case of a short delivery, the system offers the options to:
• Issue the missing goods FOC
• Issue a credit note for the missing goods
• Collect the delivered goods and credit the entire invoice item
